Tapered empire lamp shades are well-known for their simplistic, geometric, and classic design. While many lamp shades are notable focal points in a design motif, contemporary lamp shades are somewhat subdued, allowing the lamp design and its incorporation into the overall décor take centre stage. Although these types of lamp shades may seem somewhat passive, almost plain even, they still manage to play a significant role in providing much-needed pops of colour, pattern, and texture into an otherwise monochrome interior design scheme.
